UHS has successfully trained 116 nurse graduates (from Associate Degree)
In the morning of Friday, 08 February 2019, at UHS campus 2, there was a ceremony of recognition of coursework completion bachelor of nursing bridging program batch 3.
The ceremony was co-chaired by H.E Oh Nak-young, ambassador of Republic of Korea, H.E. Prof. Saphonn Vonthanak, Rector of the University of Health Sciences and Prof. Sun-Beui Bea from Ewha Womans University, and attended by around 100 participants as Vice-Rectors, Deans, Vice-Deans, Directors, Vice-Directors, UHS staff, professors, students and their parents.
During that occasion, H.E Oh Nak-young expressed the hope that the graduate student will take the gained knowledge to contribute to the well-being of the Cambodian people.
H.E Prof. Saphonn Vonthanak, Rector of the UHS, expressed his pride to the graduates. He expects that all the graduate students will use this knowledge to provide equity and quality health services to the patients. H.E Rector pointed out that so far, UHS has conducted three training courses of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (continuing from Associate Degree) with total of 106 students. The courses were provided by national and international teachers. H.E Rector also mentioned that UHS, in collaboration with Ewha Womans University which is supported from KOICA, plans to create a Master of Science in Nursing in the future.
It should be noted that, this training can be carried out because of good collaboration between UHS with Ewha Womans University and World Health Organization and other development partners of the UHS including Calmette hospital, National Pediatric Hospital, Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department, and other hospitals where provides internship.
