The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health has appreciated University of Health Sciences for organizing the 2nd Scientific Conference to disseminate results of the research project.
(Phnom Penh): Approximately 300 participants such as senior Health Officers, Professors, PhD, National and International researchers, Government Officials, students, joined the 2nd Scientific Conference on Wednesday, 27 February 2019, at 1st Campus of the University of Health Sciences.
His Excellency Professor Eng Huot, Secretary of State and as a high representative of His Excellency Professor Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of the UHS, presided over this conference.
His Excellency Prof. Saphonn Vonthanak, Rector of the University of Health Sciences, expressed the respect and warm greetings to distinguished guests and participants. His Excellency Prof. Saphonn Vonthanak briefed the objectives of the 2nd scientific conferences, which provided opportunities for UHS researchers and students to disseminate the results of the research projects that have been and are being implemented by the University and to be platform to increase opportunities for potential research project in the future.
On this occasion, His Excellency Eng Huot, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, expressed his appreciation to the University of Health Sciences for organizing this conference. His Excellency stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the wise leadership Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, highly paid attention and priority to building human resources especially capacity building of human resources in health sector.
His Excellency also encouraged the UHS to further strengthen research activities so as to increase quality of training at UHS as well as to increase the prestige of UHS at national and international levels.
It should be noted that the 2nd Scientific Conference had 35 abstracts presented in 7 different themes (infectious diseases, clinical track, quality of health care, research on teaching and learning, antibiotic resistance, non-communicable disease, functional foods, traditional medicine and health products), 27 posters presentation and 12 booths.
