Official Inauguration of “Espace France” at the University of Health Sciences

(Phnom Penh): Official Inauguration of “Espace Fance” was held on Tuesday, 25 June 2019, at 1st Campus of the University of Health Sciences, presided over by His Excellency Professor Heng Taykry, Secretary of State, Ministry of Health, High Representative of His Excellency Professor Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health, and Chairman of the Board of the University of Health Sciences and Lok Chum Teav Eva Nguyen Binh, Ambassador of the French Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

His Excellency Prof. Saphonn Vonthanak, Rector of the University of Health Sciences, expressed his deepest respect and greetings to the presence of His Excellency Professor Heng Taykry, Secretary of State, Ministry of Health, Lok Chum Teav Eva Nguyen Binh, Ambassador of the French Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, International distinguished guests, as well as students. His Excellency Rector briefed the collaboration between the University of Health Sciences with the French Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia and objectives “Espace France” to the Delegations and participants.

 

 

On this occasion, His Excellency Professor  Heng Taykry, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, expressed his pleasure and expressed his appreciation for the initiative to establish this information center “Espace France” in the local of the University of Health Sciences, which is very useful for promoting study of the students and using French language in the University of Health Sciences. He also hoped that this “Espace France” would contribute more to preference of French language learning of students and increase number of students at the University of Health Sciences to pursue their study in France and others French speaking countries.

His Excellency Secretary of State, Ministry of Health, requested to the French  Government, through Lok Chum Teav Eva Nguyen Binh, Ambassador of the French Embassy to continue the collaboration with the University of Health Sciences by encouraging Professors from France to assist in transferring knowledge to students at the University of Health Sciences and to increase the number of scholarships for Specialist (DFMS / DFMSA) as well as provide opportunity to Medical Pharmacy students with short-course internships (bourses de stage des externes) in France.

It should be noted that this “Espace France” was set up on the premises of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen (Building 3) with a size of 15.76 square meters and equipped with necessary equipment (01 TV; 01 table for small group and 1 information booth) sponsored by the French Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The purpose of this information-sharing facility “Espace France” is to disseminate information related to French language studies, scholarships from various French-speaking countries, and to provide opportunities for students at the University of Health Sciences to study in small group on some important topics.
